Press Release “So Many Stars”
November 1, 2010
The opening line asks the question, “The dawn is filled with dreams, so many dreams which one is mine?” and Laurie Jeron answers with her latest release “So Many Stars”. Jeron ventures into new musical territory with her second release that transcends genre as she mixes Jazz, Pop, R&B, Soul and Gospel. The foundation of the record starts with the timeless songs of The Great American Songbook and mixes them with more current songs that allow Jeron to pay tribute to some of the greatest singers and songwriters of our time.
“This record is for people who appreciate really good music, pure, simple and straightforward. There is a simple beauty to the lyrics and melodic lines that weave through each of the songs. Songs about love, life, faith, and finding your dreams among the stars, says an enthusiastic Jeron.”
“I connected powerfully with the lyrics of each song and I hope that the listener will too.” From songs like Smile, What a Wonderful World, and My Funny Valentine to Van Morrison’s Someone Like You and a Jazz remake of the Daughtry song “What About Now”, Jeron takes you on a musical journey through time and space with classics that never lose their appeal.
Jeron shows her songwriting abilities on two of the albums tracks “There You Are” and “The Dream Inside of You”. “Life without dreams isn’t really living, I wanted to encourage all the listeners to keep pursuing their dreams no matter what. If you dream it, and believe it, you can become it.”
Jeron was joined on the project by Sue Williams on Bass, Jon Werking on Piano and Organ, Cliff Lyons on Sax, and almost every other instrument being played by friend, mentor and Co-Producer Dave Edwards. “I was so honored and blessed to work with these incredible musicians and I am excited for people to hear it. We created something really beautiful and musically pleasing to the ear and the heart,” says Jeron. The project was recorded at Bennett Studios in Englewood, which is owned and operated by Dae Bennett, the son of Legendary Singer Tony Bennett. “You immediately know that greatness has recorded in that building,. You feel it as soon as you walk through the doors. You can’t help infusing that spirit into every note.”
Jeron will be joined by Williams, Werking and Edwards for the live release of “So Many Stars” on Friday evening, November 19 at 8:00 P.M. The concert will be held at Powerhouse Christian Church, 500 West Main Street, Wyckoff, NJ. Tickets for the event are $15.00 and are available at www.lauriejeron.com.
